This case tractor has the onan engine. It will not start or run unless you dump gas down the carburator. I can blow into the gas tank and get fuel to come out of the line. I have replaced the fuel pump (diaphram kind). Taken the top off carb (brass float) and sprayed air and sea foam into every little passage I can see including needle vales. I have removed the manifold and inspected and can not see any cracks, etc. What is wrong with this thing!! It appears that fuel does not make it past the fuel pump so Im thinking a vacuum problem??

They were always fun. Check dipstick sealing (oring on cap type) impulse hose from block to pump and breather check valve. hth
Replace the fuel line from the tank to the filter or carb. My hose looked fine w/no wet spots. The back of the bends were slightly dry cracked and sucking air. I replaced that hose and have not had a problem since. DO NOT use screw type hose clamps. Spring type are what you should use.

Try this,use a long air gun and stick it down in the tank to the screen and see if you can blow that stupid screen out,I did this and it came out with a pop,and it fixed my problems,I bought it from a guy really cheap,as he got fed up as he had completly went through the electrical,and even rewired!
Mine would run fine then start starving for fuel,,so I took off the line,,and sure enough barely tribbling out.Hope this helps

I have seen the needle and seat stick together and not open when the float goes down. It can be a problem with the garbage gosoline and the Neoprene needles that they sometimes use.
You can have fuel pumping and a clean carb, but if that needle isn't letting fuel in, you're done.

The hose that comes into the center of the air cleaner comes from there. Forgot that on one old one with an Onan, the guy didn't want to spend much so I put a primer bulb, like on an outboard in the line. that was 15yrs ago and he is still using it. Put it outside the hood by the dipstick, couple squeezes before you try and start.
Ok got it running, the oil dipstick was not seated (loosing vacuum) and the float spring was backward. Now I have too much gas!! its running but the vent hole in the top of the carb has fuel spitting out of it and when I put the top of the air cleaner on, it will stall out. The float is set according to the spec in the manual
