OK. I have a bell housing from a 1967 930 LP Gas Comfort King casting number A32055 and one from a 1967 930 Diesel Comfort King casting number A34808. Would one be better than the other? What is/are the difference(s) between the two? Thanks.

I know about the engines. My question is about the bell housings. If they are the same, why different casting numbers? Both are Comfort Kings and 1967 year models.

Will be interesting to hear from the experts, but I will guess one is for a hand clutch western special and the other for an 8 spd.

One a 6 speed, and 1 an 8 speed? Bell housing bolt pattern for the 6 speed is different than the 8 speed.

Both are 8sp. According to the parts book, A34808 replaced A32055, so the A32055 is earlier. The 6sp. did not use a separate clutch housing, even though the last 6sp's used a Foot Clutch.

I went to my parts book and Johns info is correct A34808 replaced A32055.

Has far has i can tell the parts are the same.

I think they changed the number when they made a serial number change at 8282440

Maybe I should re-phrase that, Foot clutch's were available on the late 6sp's. Irregardless, all CASE chain drive tractors used a single housing from the bell housing to the back. I dare not say to the PTO housing, because some were "barebacks". No PTO or Hyd's.

Thanks John. As is with many casting number changes, it didn't have to make sense or have a reason. Good to know the internals are the same.
