| I took a 201 out of a 660 combine and bolted it right into my 430 utility and just have to lengthen the top cover oer the engine. no big deal, bolted right up no mods to engine needed. |

| There were no case tractors with the 201 engine. The swap to a 201 is fairly easy, finding good used engine parts is kind of easy to do if you take the time and study up. My brother is ToddD in the 201 in a 411b link. We currently have his tractor apart in my garage adding some more power. If you need any more info on the motor or the swap my email is open. |

| They can, however, be installed in tractors (with some mods) |

| | What mods? I thought the 201G used a 188G block? meL and John Saeli indicate that rebuild parts for 201G are next impossible to get. Just from a little looking, it seems 188G rebuild parts are harder to get than the 188D parts. Jim |

| If the information I've recieved from a couple of guys here is correct, the combine engines had a belt-driven governor, and they won't function properly in an ag application. The engine would have to have the timing chain cover and ag governor controls put on to it. I've got a 440H with a G188D in it,(out of a combine, apparently) and it's got the belt-driven governor on it. I was told by a couple of guys here that I'd have to change the governors out for it to run right. I have a g148 that's got the pieces, but have yet to do it. There may be other things, as well. There's been several discussions on it here. |

| A Continental 201 c.i. gas was used in a Massey Harris model 33. From what I've heard very difficult to find parts. |

| 660s also had 188 gas engines, we have 4 of them. All have internal governors, not belt drive. |

Re: 201g engine in reply to Don Rudolph, 12-18-2012 21:19:39

| | I think Don is correct. No ag tractors used the 201, and I don't think the construction tractors used it either. The 201 is the same engine as the 188g with a bigger bore, so it will bolt up to any 630 with minimal or no modification. The block on a 188/201 is about 1 1/2 inched longer than a 148 (430) or 159 (530) engine, so replacing either of those engines with a 201 would require lengthening the tin, changing out side rails (if equipped) and modifying the throttle linkage. |
