Case D headlights

Hello, where is the correct spot for the headlights to be mounted on a 51 D Case? I have seen them mounted on the fenders and on the sides of the radiator. Thanks, Troy

Thanks, for the info. Mine has the wide fenders on it. Are the brackets the same as they use on the DCs? If not do you know where I could buy the brackets and do they mount on top center?
Thanks, Troy

My research on the subject concluded that by '51, the lites mounted on the side of the radiator, regardless of fenders.

Most of them that I have seen were on the "steer horn" shaped angle iron bolted just ahead of the battery. (see Nick's link in the post IDing loader on SC)

I have a 1950 D, and the headlights are on the radiator. That is my stepson Paul on the tractor. Zane

That sure is a nice original D !!!
Is it a family tractor?
I would rather see one like that than a restored one.
I would like to have a D for my collection some day....
Thanks for posting,
Nick

Unfortunately it is not a family tractor. I bought this from a friends auction about 20 years ago. I always loved how that thing would pull the front wheels off the ground when we had our demonstration pull at the Great Oregon Steam Up. I paid $1100 for it 20 years ago and it probably is worth about the same now! Not a great return on an investment, but I will never sell it anyway. All it does now is pull for show, no competition. She has calcium in the tires and is one heavy beast when I put her on the trailer. It out pulls every other D that has pulled there. Even the ones with pretty paint. Thanks for your kind comments, Zane.
