galvanized rims on 400s

Would rims on the Big 400s be painted galvanized or hot dipped? Mine were painted over and I would want to be carefull in removing the last coat of paint put on

Chuck,
Never galvinized to my knowledge. I saw that post that someone made but I believe they were mistaken.

When I was checking into this the same thought was brought up. The rims looked to be galvanized only. I ended up sraying mine with argent silver. It gives a high low galvanized look. I think if you enquire on the paint and body forum you'll get the paint number faster than I could go find it in my files/junk. happy paint removal and wire cup cleaning. gobble

I agree. Look in the manual and they look silver, as in aluminum or the argent silver if you don't like bright aluminum. Like I posted the other day, the rims in the 70 series lit. are aluminum.

I have several good used rims from different models that are galvanized.

original rims that have never been painted over appear to be galvanized and not painted,silver argent is much better than aluminum as it is a paint and not a porous coating
