Got new to me 930 running but can only move throttle 1/8" and it goes from idle to way over speed. Pulled the cap off the front of the pump before starting and the rack is very free and easy to move so its not stuck. Must be a issue with the governor in the pump. Can I pull the back cover off the pump with out a problem to check it out?? Local diesel shop wants $1100 to check it out. Don't have that in the whole tractor! |

| | Wow, you don't even have $1100 in the whole tractor. Must have been a pretty good deal. 930s listed on this site in photo ads usually list at $3200 to $3500. |

| You can remove that back cover, be very careful when seperating and take note how things are as you do so to make reassembly easier. When the cover is seperated a inch or so you need to reach in with a needle nose plier and disconnect a very light spring. I have only removed those covers to reseal the throttle shaft bushing and have never replaced any parts in there. Then I have to beg the diesel shop to sell me a seal kit over the counter. Rod. |

| The more I think about it,I wonder if one of the fly weights of the governor is stuck all the way out?? Tractor has sat close to 20 years. I should be able to take the plug out of the bottom of the cover and roll engine easy to see if they are free. |

| Yes. There will be a light spring and gov link visible after unscrewing gov hsg and and pulling back from pump about an inch that can then be disconnected. |
