I have an L case that has been setting for several years and I need to take the rear wheels off. Tried several whys and can"t get them to budge. Any ideas or proven methods.

Cutoff spokes or cast? I removed the cutoff wheels from my L by putting a chain through the spokes and over a plate on the hub. A hydraulic jack put some pressure on the wheels. Then I started heating the hub with a propane weedburner torch. Then started hitting the hub with a hameer. The first wheel went flying across the shop (ok, maybe just a foot or so and then fell over. The second one, I chained to my engine hoist to keep it from falling on me.

The splines are tapered. With a little heat and pressure and a little impact or two, they should pop right off.
