Update on Son's Health

Our son was released from Ross Heart Hospital at Ohio State this Friday night. After lots of testing on his heart and brain, it was found that his heart is fine, earlier in diagnosis he was shown to have thickening of the heart muscle and our only options appreared to be heart surgery of some kind. Some may remember he's only 22 yr's old. Well that was good news for sure, but then we got the news of what he really has. It's called Vasovagal Syncope. Layman's terms - uncontrolled fainting. His brain scans shown he's fine, and blood flow is good to. Something in his brain is telling the heart what to do, but Doctor's don't know what is causing it, and told us there was nothing they could do for Adam, and he would have to live with it. Gave us some seizure pills, salt tablets, and pills for his headaches. Wife and I feel helpless. We can't begin to thank all those in person whom sent support our way and will continue too, but please know this that we appreciate it more than you know. It gives us piece of mind to have so many that don't know us, support us in our time of need. Wife wants me to pass along to all those CASE father's and mothers, hug your kids, spend time with them, and never ever let them forget how much you love them. Sorry for long post, but THANK YOU again. Mike and Joely

Thank goodness for the good news you got and I hope that they can find a way to help him more witht the condition he has, I look at things as "they could always be worse" am so glad you did not get worse news of any kind thank you for the update still in our thoughts here take care cnt tom

You're right, Tom. We have a strong belief in God and pray for those that have it worse than us. We'll keep working on his recovery no matter what. Mike

Mike,
Keep the Faith! Our dauter in law had much simular issues when she was that age. She is 40 now and the last time she had a problem of that nature was 2 years ago when her Dad died. I'm by no means a doctor, but the doctors here, told her to reduce mental stress,(however she is middle management in a local WM distribution food center), and watch her diet. Soda and coffee, seamed to be her enimies. She heeded their recomendations, and eats much more garden grown vegies and is functioning at 110% , and looks like a million $$ now.
I hope that perhaps he may be able to make the same recovery, as he grows older.
Best wishes Loren.

Loren's advice is very good. Its amazing what fresh unaltered, preservative free food will do for the body. As well, if you have the funds, a second opinion may be in order.

Have to give our local guys a plug. Houston, TX medical center has one of the best heart and cancer centers in the US, maybe the world. People come here from all over the world for treatment. I wouldn't stop at one opinion, if your Dr's. say they can't do any more, find someone that may provide a better answer.

Jim

Thanks for the update on your son's condition. I have to agree with the other recommendations given, healthy food, and seeking a 2nd opinion from a well respected facility makes good sense. Please let him know that we are all pulling for his recovery. Don
