i just had the injector pump and injectors on my CASE 400 DIESEL rebuilt and put them back on the tractor. bled everything and it started right up but then it blew the bottom off the third stage fuel filter. i replaced the filter and started it up again...it blew the bottom off this 2nd new filter. does anyone know what is happening here? or what i need to do to correct it? thanks for any help |

| Jon, had the same thing on my 600 happen. If it is the same set up as the 600 then there is a relief type valve directly on top of the final filter. When you take it apart it looks like a giant float valve out of a carburetor. clean it and the spring up real good and put back together. Sounds like you may have had some bio blend at some point. Hope this helps. |

If I am correct there is a relief valve threaded into the top of the first stage filter that controls the pressure to the filters ande the injection pump, allowing excess pressure to return to the tank. I would disassemble that to make sure that the ball or plunger is not stuck or that it is not plugged with debris. Also it is possible as the other poster suggested for a line to be plugged and this should all be checked as well.
