Hello Case Nutty,

Since you seem to be one of the main CASE guys on this site perhaps you can help with this question. The 3pt arms would not raise on my 1030 so we removed and cleaned the control valve. Now they will raise but not stay up unless the engine is revved up.
Before we tear into it again, any idea the most likely problem?

John

I would check the valve over again as I would think you have a valve seating problem still, do you have access to a Case service manual? they go into detail on how to test/repair the DOM valve, I am assumeing your remote valve works correctly? if the DOM valve checks out fine then my next thought would be you have a rockshaft seal problem, I have seen them crack the piston sleeve/ and or blow the seals due to the 3pt not cancelling, hope this gives you a few ideas to check out cnt

Bro,
Is she a "Leapin Leana" We had problems controling (Power Hop) with 9/1032s and 1370s High tire pressure rear wheel weights, and duals if we could get a farmer to invest in them generally took care of the problem. except on the 13s. Only solution with them was to throtle back.
Loren
Ps Did you ware your ear muffs, or are your ears still ringing.

Hay Bro, not she did not leap/lunge at all, as to the noise she is not loud at all as the exhaust system is all sealed and in very good condition the OEM muffler is not burnt out and she just purrs along running 1900rpm in 4th gear, I am sure she would have pulled it in 5th but I was enjoying hearing her purr along, this 13' chisel plow really does not put much of a load on her I could use some extensions Hmmmm, now that I think about it I do have a set lol cnt tom

no this one just runs on the 3pt, at this size of a unit it seems to work well with sweeps or points, we never sold one this small when we were a dealer we did sell a number of 16'-18' 3pt units and all of them had guage wheels, this unit was sold by the guy who bought our dealership in 1977 and he did not spec guage wheels I bought it from the original owner's wife a few years ago at his estate sale he had barly wore the paint off the shanks I also got the original spikes, twisted shovels and sweeps are have very little use and show almost no wear, it was sold with a 970, cnt

That is a nice looking 930,and that cab. Well lets just say, I was out doing some chiseling today too, on my open 930. She was a bit nippy, and that cab would have been alright. But for those of us less fortunate, like myself, I grow a big beard for the fall. Bruce

Nice Egging cab. Made on the farm SE Gurley Ne. I knew Ted Egging personaly. He was a case man to. Had a LA with detorit diesel. One that he installed. His lat tractor was a 970 I think. He farmed and made Egging cabs. Built his cab with financing from the bank by getting a order frome each of the dealers in Sidney Ne.

thanks for the Egging info we sold a fair amount of them from 67 to some time in the early 70's very good cabs as you say, I counted the other day and I have five of them here, 2 830's, 2-930's and a 1030 with them, I remember driving down and picking up cabs to install back in the day cnt

i'm not a farmer so this may seem like a dumb question but what is the difference between that plow and a cultivator, looks sort of the same. when would you want to use a plow like that over a moldboard plow? thanks, just trying to learn.
gus.

Looks like it worked out really nice..........to bad it's gota cab on it. I could see myself bounce'n across the field on it . Ah heck cnt, I can open the wind'das and run her all day for yeah. It sure looks good! How's Jill do'in these days?

Hi Gus, there are no dumb questions, execpt the ones that don't get asked. I use a chisel on corn stubel after silage, instead of a moulboard plough. Field is near all bare dirt with corn stalks, so you can go faster, and wider. Therefor you save time and fule. A chisel will go deeper that a cultivator, and allow more trash to pass thru. Also there is some more erosion control by leaving some trash on top. I do both depending on the field. Bruce

here in the summer sun you would be very glad to have the shade and the air flowing thru to cool you a bit lol as to Jill she just left for work and I think she is a little weak yet she is far ahead of what she was before the hospital stay as they have her back to full pump preuure agin thanks for asking, just read a bit in our paper that say's Gillette is the fourth economically rated micropolitions in the USA for buisness and work so if you find your way out here they say it is a good place to be take care cnt tom

Lookin good, I bet the ole girl loved to get out and stretch her legs again. The 14 will get jealous loosing some field play time to the new kid on the block, lol, Rod.

Tom,
I bet you enjoyed all the memories you had as you throttled up and let her do the job.
