A fella claims to have a 1952 case dc4 with a factory 3 point hitch. He says it is not a eagle hitch but a 3 point. How can I tell difference by looking at it? How much do u think it's worth

They were all Eagle hitches. The arms on an EH are ridgid, no lateral movement with a sliding jaw on the ends of the arms. The tractor will also have a bracket that covers the PTO shaft, and the top link hooks into that. The guy does not know Case DC tractors.

Don't forget that someone may have done some alterations to the tractor to give it a true 3-point setup. Good 3-point hitches usually have lower lift arms with two ball links at the ends. These allow the lower arms to swing side-to-side. The eagle hitch arms will not swing side-to side.

The guy told him "factory 3pt, not EH". The first 3pts came later on the small 100 series. No Such thing on DCs. There were aftermarket kits by companies such as Speedco and the like.

Yes, if the pin spacing on the implement is standard and if the eagle hitch is in decent shape. However, people like to make and alter implements for their own purposes, and some implements use non-standard spacings. If it has an eagle hitch, then you should take a measuring tape with you when you go to get an implement to make sure. However, most category 1 implements fit or can be easily be made to fit.

Yes you can, but if you don't have the PTO bracket that I mentioned, the geometry will be off on the top link. There have been numorus posts on this subject in the recent past that you can review, including home brewed versions of the PTO bracket that allow you to use the PTO and 3pt. at the same time.
Good luck, and keep us posted if you get the tractor.

I know, but who knows which part of the seller's statement is incorrect. From what we know, it might not have been made in 1952, and it might not actually be a DC-4.
