800 getting to much fuel

I finally got the 802-B home from Alberta. All in all pretty nice straight tractor. Starts right up even when it"s cold. It has good oil pressure and does not seem to have any major leaks. When it"s cold it seems to have a miss and produces a lot of white smoke, seems to be raw fuel. When she gets up to temp the smoke cleans up but still seems to be getting more fuel than she needs. I"m getting ready to pull the injectors and make sure their working correctly. I"m wondering if there is anything in the injection pump that could be stuck causing the over fueling? The tractor was parked for several years at one time but the original owner has been using her again for the last few years.

If it starts well in cold weather dont touch anything!!!!! Just put some fuel conditioner in an run it hard for couple days before you spend unnessary money. Some white smoke on start up on 40 year old engine is expected.Fact it starts well in cold indicates it is in pretty good shape.I would sure run an check overall cndition of engine before putting wrench to any thing. Make sure thermostat is keeping engine in 180 degree area also.

CNT,
You have mentioned before adding 2 stroke oil or motor oil to your diesel for extra lubrication. How much should a person add? We always run straight diesel, no bio in the older tractors. Thanks for the advice.

I add at least 2 gallons to a hundred gallons of fuel most times but have run a much higher ratio with zero problems in summer runnning,, cnt

the guys are probably rite on ,, my 800 and 930 snort and buck when they are 1st started in very cold weather .i always give them a little time to warm up at mid throttle .. however ,,. if you feel qualified to believe it is indeed over fueling ..the fuel return line could be pluged,, never had that happen on a case motor yet ,, but my deer 4020is currently getting crud in the fuel return line ,when that happens the deer runs and stammers like a gasser with the choke pulled ..
