Have the heads off the 711b to check out the internals, and do a valve job. Measured the cylinders with a bore gage and come up with less than 4.000. WTHeck? Reset the gage and measured again, same thing WTH?
Check the micrometers to be sure their not off. Dead on the money. Reset the gage and again and measure. Still way off. [b:dd39d32f5e]I didn't get the exact numbers, because I did not believe the gage, but it's like 3.950-3.975 there abouts.[/b:dd39d32f5e]
I know the gage and mics are as right as I can check, and a toolmaker for 28 yrs to boot. So I know after three measurments and gage checks, that I didn't blow it when I measured it.
Would sleeves and pistons from something else fit in the 251 block? Block # is correct for tractor and 251 cubes.
Ideas? Beside check again 4th time is a charm. I could swallow a couple thou difference on the readings but not 10 times that amount.
