Thought you all might enjoy this. The VAC has been in the family since the early 1950's. So far 4 generations of us have driven it. It has never been restored, just maintained as a "working" tractor. The VAH has been in the family for about 30 years and was abandoned and used for parts. I have restored it completely, with the help of folks I found on this discussion board. Both are rare rigs out here on the Monterey Bay in California. A number of the VAH rigs were used in Brussels Sprouts and sweet corn production and had the modified single front wheel which seemed to have been a dealer modification, as far as I can tell. In the late 1950"s the local Case dealer was killed when a Case dozer he was demonstrating apparently lost transmission oil pressure on a steep slope and rolled over in the Carmel Valley. The brand never re-established well here and was absorbed into the Ford dealership.

Nice looking pair of Case tractors! Thanks also for the bit of Case dealer history. A local Case dealer in this area was killed when the bulldozer he was loading on a steel deck truck slid off and landed on him. Don

don't know about the VAC, but the RC had a special attachment available in 1938. it was a single cast front wheel.

That VAC sure looks good for having never been restored/repainted!!! Your family has certainly cared for it well.

Actually, the VAC was repainted a couple of times over the last 60 years, but it was the old Rustoleum orange regime. Functional, but not correct! That's why there are no decals on it.

Great pics and story. It's nice to hear the family history of equipment.
I have seen another VAH single front like yours in California and had wondered if it was dealer modified.I have not seen any reference to a VAH single front in any brochures, ads or parts books.
Thanks for posting,
Nick
