1939 Case RC question

A friend is putting a 1939 Case RC back together. Is
there anybody out there with knowledge of the clutch
oiling system and what the threaded hole in the back
end of the crankshaft is used for? Any help would be
very much appreciated.

I can't find it in any of the online parts catalogs, but there should be a steel dowel that fits loosely into the bore in the end of the crankshaft. Oil from the rear main seeps past the dowel through the clutch and into the bell housing. The flywheel slings the excess oil into the trough on the right side of the clutch housing where it drains back into the crankcase. Be sure that there is no plug in the hole at the front of the little trough. Had a machine shop put plug in that hole and we didn't discover it until engine had pumped all the oil into the clutch housing.

pieces and is trying to assemble it properly the
first time so that he doesn't have problems like
