Anyone Put Larger than Stock Pistons in a SC To Make a Puller? If So How Large of Pistons? Thinking about 4"Piston and this would make 201cid! With Tin Wheeles and Light Weighted Will it Make 3500lbs with a 180lb Driver? I know these tractors are a Bit Weak on Power for Pulling Compaired to a DC But I have a SC with 3 5/8 Pistons making 40 Hp and its a work tractor! Because i grew up on a SC I wanted to make a Puller out of Non Running SC that I have verry little Invested in to Join my VAC and my Farmalls that i pull and Be Differnt than the Average Puller! Thanks for any help with my SC!

| CLIFF S On the SC, I have always heard that the SC was similar to the Farmall H in that the "power to weight ratio". Of all your Farmalls, do you have an H that you pull with? I know that you mentioned the C. Now on to this VAC Hybrid everyone is talking about. You say 15mph in the 6500lb. Class? "C'Mon Man"!!! I've got a 4010 that has a hard time doing that!!!! |

| | I have a H I pull in Top Cut Classes and it dose well in 4000 and 4500! The VA Last Summer at Tioga Co,Pa Fair the Track as Hard as a Rock with a Pro Drop Pan sled that was our Speed! We where 2nd in 5500 and 6500 Small tire Open (15.5x38 tire Limit) On a Verry Soft Track a Month ago we went up to 13 mph at Buffalo Vally but in 4500 (2nd to a Case 300)and 5700 (1st) Where not the Fastest Small Case Thats Brad Peters Case 300 But Where Competitive with Him Most of the Time! I was on the VA when it Won a 6250lbs 6 Mph $200 to win Class at Trout Run with a Class of JD G s,Oliver 88 s and a Case DC 4 The VA is a Good Puller But Theres Allways Room for Inprovement and It could use some 16.9x38 at some Tracks and another 20 HP But It all Takes Time!! Iam Just Glad to Share Seat Time on it and Leave the Expences up to the Owner! Cliff S |

| Cliff, Don't you have a good Case puller? A Vac with an eagle with teeth on the side panels (well at least it has a Vac hood and grill) , I saw you win down in Harrisburg, That was a pretty heavy class for that sized tractor, im not sure I agree with Pa puller knows, I think Cases are a pretty good pulling tractor, I know they have beaten me a lot of times |

| | Yes that was Me Winning the 6250 6 Mph Class at the Mid Alantic Super Pull on what started out as a Case VA Thats More of a Open Class Tractor thats Capable of Running up to 15+ Mph 6500lbs Class on a Drop Pan Sled and a Hard Track! But thats a Friends Tractor that I share Seat Time On! I Have A VAC Of my Own with 36 Rubber on the Back thats Done Ok for its Self But at 3.5 MPH Class! Like Ive said I Have IH Pullers Also thats Done Well But the SC that Ive Been thinkin of Building would be Just a Noncut 3.5 mph puller for Home and to Give People something to Ponder about! I Think Almost any Tractor Can be Competitive if Enough Time is Spent on it Getting things Right! I Spent Time Growing up on a SC and i am shure there like a DC/CC for Balance But Need More Power and if Kept under 5000lbs in Noncut at Home Pulls they Could Be Competive Puller! Cliff S |

| Pistons of 3-11/16" diameter were the largest after market sleeves made for the SC. I like my SC's, but wouldn't be my choice for a puller. Too much weight to horsepower ratio. I would like to have a Case CC puller. |

| What I meant to say is that you should put some more money and time in your IH "pullers" and try to make something out of them instead of another project! |

| Big whoop! You travel all that distance and spend that money to pull against 2-3 tractors in your class and then brag about it! You only go to local pulls that you think you might win! Like I said, why don't you spend money and concentrate on one tractor and have something than have six or more average pullers! |

| | To the Guy that Talks Big Without Puting up his Name My Average Pullers only Won 8 out of 11 Point Championships at our Local Pulls Agenst Average up Twice My Hp Tractors that are our Local Pulls this Past year As You Well Know! And One was Just a Spare Parts Tractor! Lord forbid if I where to Improve Them! My Compition Would Need to Spend Many More Thousands to Compete with My Average Pullers at there Pro Engine and Chassey Builders! Good thing i Do my Own Work it Keeps the Cost Down! Cliff S |

| | No Differnt Than you and Your Tractors! How Far do yo travel to get any Compition? Atleast to our aera 140 miles away! Most of the Guys you Pull agenst Should Pull in the Stock Class instesd of beenin 50ft+ Behind you in the 5/6 mph or Open Classes But if they Did You would Pull By Yourself! And i Remember My Su C giving you More than its Share of Compition in the Div 3 3.5 mph Class this Year! You Can Pull the 200 Now in 2T So Take it and To Wauseon and See for Yourself what Those Few Tractors Have For You in 3500 4000! Then Agian Maby You Shouldnt Its Tough there and your Spider Gears may End up in the Scrap Pile! Cliff S |
