CIH 5240, loader 4x4, fair, should have looked it over closer sold for $13000

1972 1270, cab, 5000 hours seemed right, original paint, straight, needed rear tires, PS valve was cleaner than the rest of the tractor????? $3500

2-14 bottom eagle hitch, BER plow, serviceable but not pretty, $175

9 shank Case/Landoll Chisel plow, fair, No sale at under 3K
7 shank same as above, needed bearings blades, points, lift cylinders, hoses, SOLD@$3750??????

All I bought was a Killbros wagon and a sausage sandwich.

(quoted from post at 20:09:48 11/03/12) Rich,
How was the sandwich? LOL.

Had better.

I think both tractors were a deal, but somehow it wouldn't surprise me if the 5240 shows up at another auction soon.

The 1270 had a little surface rust in some areas, but no heavy rust. the side window was broken. At 35 degrees it took a little sniff of either to start. I think the young guy who bought it got a lot of horse for his money.

(quoted from post at 09:09:05 11/04/12) Mr. Martin, A 5240mfd and loader for 13K? WOW what was you thinkin' Tom

I am half suspecting the auction's Shill ended up buying it, they called out a bidder number, but???? Several known dealers/jockeys there, none were bidding, made me feel like I was missing something on it.

I had concerns with it. My mechanical ability doesn't extend to electronics. Seemed like a load of electronics on it. The up/down buttons on the fenders didn't work, made me wonder what else didn't.

Floor of the cab had been painted with truck bedliner to hide scabby rust, scabby rust in my experience goes hand in hand with corroded electricals.

I couldn't figure out how to get the dash to tell me how many hours it had on it.

Tires seemed wrong, had 16.9-38 rears with 14.9-24 fronts(cord showing through side walls), seems like it should have had 18.4-38 rears. Made me wonder if there could have been issues with the driveline because of it.

It did sound sweet.
