Case 2670 problem

Our Case 2670 has been giving me issues since the spring with the transmission overheating. Durning road transport it seems to be the worst and it doesnt take long with the tractor wide open. It will soon there after loose the brakes allowing the pedal to be pushed to the floor where before it had little travel. Are the brakes dragging? I would have thought id notice that cause it doesnt slow rapidly if i push in the clutch.
Ive checked the oil cooler but i may try running the tractor stationary and see if its in the hydraulics that it over heats.

If anyone has any advice it would be much appreciated. The rain has held us off the fields but we still have corn to do!
 
I have seen when the 3 pt. lever is in the full raise position sometimes the hitch doesn't cancel, causing the hitch to stay on demand, deadheading the oil and running high trans. temps. With the tractor at idle bump the 3 pt lever ahead, if the engine gains a couple hundred rpm that was proble the problem. Report back with your findings!
