Hi. I do not post here much. I look here almost daily. Long story short... I grew up in the 70's and 80's in north central Iowa. At the time we had a 970 and a 1175 for our big tracors. I first spent many hours riding along, then running them myself. Parents retired in early 90's and sold everything. I now live in northern MN. I do not farm. But everytime I pass a 70 series I can't help but stare and wish I had one, but it is just not practical. I am in my 40's now and have 2 little girls, 4 and 5. A bucket list item for me would be for them to ride in one some day. Crazy dream huh??? Maybe someday... Thanks for reading, SHON |

| Perhaps it wouldn't be as meaningful, but you could always scale your dream back a bit and get a VAC, SC or DC that needs a good home and a small trailer to ride the kids in for less than $1,000. |

| Well, I tell you what. If you are ever in the Southern Minnesota area, you can take a drive in my 1070 Case. She's the only Case I have for now. I know how you feel about the 70 series tractors. They are my absolute favorite series. It is great to have a dream. Don't ever let go of that. Sometimes dreams are what makes people keep going on a daily basis. Take care. Kow Farmer (Kurt) |

| An open station 70 series is the finest sitting left fender you will find. |

Nothing wrong with that. My 2 oldest boys would play on dads JD model R. One would sit on the seat and pretend to drive while the other would sit on the hood, banging the rain cap in time with saying POP POP POP POP....Both them boys spent a lot of time riding that R with dad. Tried finding it......but I would take a reatorable R any time just cause of my boys. Maybe in the next few years I could even think of how to make it usable here on the farm.

| | I, too, have great memories of my grandpa and his tractor (on his farm in Southern Minnesota -- near Lake Crystal). I finally completed a full circle when at the age of 55 I purchased a tractor like the one he had and then proceeded to restore it. I truly wish I had been able to share that adventure with him or someone else in my family. So, here's a thought: Maybe you could focus on finding the right tractor to restore or upgrade with the plan of sharing that process with your daughters when they are a bit older. They could help you work on the tractor and then inherit it and pass it on to their children someday. This is just a thought and one that I'd have enjoyed for my own life in a perfect world scenario. I plan on doing this same thing with my new grand daughter, if she is so inclined. I hope she enjoys visiting grandpa on his farm and becomes involved in the appreciation of old farm tractors, too. |

| I wish you had a Case tractor for them to drive and bond to, But in todays times it is more important to build a collage fund to insure their future. Real World life takes presidence over fanticies. Take stock; and enjoy every moment with them you can, because they will be grown and gone before you know it. Our youngest is older than you. Loren |
