these show the grain monitor installed new in my 1969 1660 by the previous owner, glad to say they did great job as it still works well, also included shot of my header float/ride cylinder they also installed on her I must say it also works extremly well for rocks/roading/uneven ground and jusy plain cutting, if you have ever ran a loader skidsteer or scraper ect with this type of system you will understand what I mean also I included a shot of more "mods" the PO installed a header lift control knob and a oil can holder painted Desert Sunset, other shots are of the skyline and different angles of my place hope the long post does not bore or offend cnt

Same air cond. as my 1665. A grain loss monitor would almost be a waste of money as Case combines very seldom have a grain loss problem. Easy to set and aways do a good clean job! Is that a nitrogen accumulator for the easy ride system?? Never seen one on a Case. Who were they made by?

I do not know how made the accumlator I will look and see if it is stamped some where, I agree on the grain loss but sure is nice when I am custom cutting and change crops as it will tell me instantly if I need to adjust a bit cnt

Dam Bro,
That ground around you has the ability to produce food and energy from the roots of the earth. We here have the same capabilities, HOWEVER, here we have way too many "HAVEALOTTS" definition, people who made a fortune years ago on Wall Street and moved here and want to look off their porch and see nothing but trees.
Everyone here that has to make a living, other than a few family farms such as ours has to travel many miles to a job site to earn a decent wage, because thes HAVEALOTTS, don't want any small business in the area that might wake them up during their afternoon snooz.. Yet they think the Town Hwy. Dept. should pick up all their garbage and leaves.
Sorry for the Rant, These people think they can tell me what I can do in the town that I was born in! I'm just waighting for one of them to step onto my property and chalange me.

Cool pics, the Desert Sunset can is oil can holder? I do remember you mentioned combining alfalfa seed in a earlier post, that is such tiny seed and expensive, does it require any mods to the combine to harvest it? Like casecollectorsc mention the design of these machines made it possible for them to do a great job. I have owned a gleaner and now a axialflow since starting farming with a 660, and neither of the other machines can produce a sample as clean as the case did. Rod.

Rod, for years I cut Alfalfa with my 1000 with no special attachment's just adjust the sieves and concave clearance and cylinder speed and of course fan/air flow and other than 10%-15% hulls left unthreashed and in the bin it worked fine, I just took the hulls threw them in my broadcaster and spread them on new seeding area's so not a huge loss, but then I was doing 300-1000 lbs total, then I took a old threshing machine fixed sieve that my grand father used in his Red River Special for Alfalfa and by adding two pieces of angle iron on one end it bolted right into the 1000 in place of the cleaning sieve and that brought down the hulls to 1%-3% things were cake now, then I started using my 960 and found the smaller machine was even better at the job and soon found a factory specialty Alfalfa/grass sieve and that brought the hulls down even more and if I used a pickup attachment and windrowed the seed allowing it to dry well I found most times that was the way to go, a heavy frost/freeze and you do not have to windrow at all just cut it direct, this same sieve allows me to harvest Creasted Wheat grass seed very well also as well as Camelina seed (used for Bio-fuel among other things 35% oil content), the bigger machines will do all of the seeds I mentioned but with out a slow speed fan drive attachment they will test you on getting them no to blow out some the smaller 40" machines are very easy to adjust air down to suit these needs and are easier to keep the seed, sorry did not mean to type so much just seemed like it needed explained better LOL here are a couple of shots of the 960 with small seeds in the bin, first shots are Camelina then Crested Wheat Grass last is Alfalfa seed cnt tom

Nutty, Thanks for the extra info and pics. I find it interesting to see how things are done in places other than corn country. Rod.
