Hi. After a flushing out the torque tube to clean it up to get the clutch working, I was getting ready to replace the cover of the shuttle/dual range. Something didnt seem quite right. So I pulled the cover off again and played with where the forks go down on. I shifted the front one forward and saw that gold colored piece is broke into three pieces.
I believe this is shuttle synchronizer. I know I'm going to have to split the tractor now... but heres two questions:
1) what causes this part to break? I recently bought the tractor, never used it myself.
2) what else should I replace/inspect, etc. while I have it split?
Thanks |

| In addition, should I replace just the broken piece (found its called a "blocking ring") or the complete synchronizer unit as a whole?
What else do I need when I split this..gaskets, plugs, etc?
Any tips/tricks on splitting this for this repair? This is the loader backhoe model so a bit more weight on the back then the farm 530...and tractor is not running curently. |
