Looking for pics and specs for a tractor I used to drive. It was a 1979 model I believe. Had 4 wheel steering, was non articulating and could crab steer.

Don't remember the model # but I'm sure someone here will know which one I mean.

Thanks

1979 would put it at a 90-series. 4490, 4690 or 4890.

Thanks, I remember she was a Hoss. pulled 8 x 16s no problem. The crab steer was cool. I don't remember which model it was, too long ago.

79 was the last year of production of 2470/2670and 2870 also early in the year they changed to the "90" series 4wd, although the 2090/2290/2390 and 2590's began in 1978, a 79 model "70" series 4wd will have only one cab door, also do you remember if the crab steer was controlled with a electric switch or a lever, all "90" series had the electric switches cnt

Electric switch. You selected how it steered, front, back, both, crab and then used the steering wheel. Can't remember for sure but I believe it was done with rocker switches. Computer went out on it and it wouldn't steer right. The cab & nose cone style was not like the 1470 the grill was in two sections. 2870 looks right 2470 it is not.

here is a 4690 sorry this is the only pic I have of a "90" series 4wd cnt

Here is a picture of dads 4890 grinding hay, it has its share of steering gremlins, but it is a good pto machine.

(quoted from post at 18:54:45 10/21/12) 4690 or 4890 would pull 7-8 bottoms depending on soil, I pull 7-18" semi mount with a 2670 cnt

My brain wants to say 4890 because of the stack location.

Any inside pics? Maybe one hooked to semi mounted plows?

Here is a sales ad of the 4894. I don't have any pictures of dads in the field, we only use it for grinding hay. The 2870 and the 4890 and 4894 used a Scania engine and not case engine, that is why the exhaust is out the right instead of the left. Also these tractors all had the hood scoop and bulge for the air filter, that the 44 and 4690 did not.

OK never noticed the bulge in the hood in the pics till now. Didn't have that on the tractor I used so it's not a 4890, so it would have to be a 44 or 4690.

Thanks for all the help guys.
