Anyone know if the rod pin in a 504 piston is the same size as the 4 3/8 piston out of an 830 diesel?

what exactly are you planning on doing? I assume you have some 830 rods and pistons that you want to work with? A 504 piston will have a precup so unless you are building a direct injected dsl I would forget them

Its going to be a gas with a turbo. I have a set of good 830 diesel sleeves and pistons and rods i want to use just because i have them. This is going to be a clean out some of the parts in the shop project.

contrary to the self appointed resident expert here the 830 diesel and the 451 both have a 1.4995 diameter pin so maybe someone can explain why you would need 1070 rods to get the wrist pin size that you already have, 20/2290 are both small pin pistons,a 22 has keystone rings, a 20 has straight cut rings, you building a gas or dsl.? gas rods would cut down your reciprocating weight a little and if you stroke it you can run bbc pistons, M farmall rods work good with a 2.5" journal and a piston with the right height would allow you to run a one piece rod instead of welded rods

Doug, doug, doug, You have so much anger and resentment. I'm worried that carrying around all that will lead to health problems. It's not uncommon for that kind of stress to lead to hyper tension, which can lead to ulsers, heart attacks, and even stroke. Maybe you could seek the help of a certified profesional to help you deal with these personal problems and put them behind you. I know I speak for everyone here at the case family when I say we all care deeply about you and only want what's best for you so you can continue to provide all the quality help and advice that you have in the past for many more years. Love ya man!!!

No, but you can change your rods for 1070/1170 rods then 2090 pistons will fit. Done that with a 930 years ago.

Do you realise that the 504 pistons are not flat top and require a head change as well? If the MM pistons have the same dimentions and are flat top they would be an easier change.

We bored an 830 gas block put in 504 sleeves used 830 rods with G1000 pistons. With a little other work got us a nice 336 puller.

does the G1000 have the same size rod pin for the 830 rod or did you have to modify?
