Hi, I'm trying to reach out to jdmearis/LJD and anyone else who can help. I have the injector pump off of my 530CK so I can refresh it up. I've looked through all of your posts, but getting some mixed up info so I want to clarify it with you so I can make one order for parts and be good to go.

First, I have the common symptom..runs for a few minutes, then loss of power until it dies. Takes few minutes to sit until it will start up again for the problem to reoccur. Continuous black smoke.

I am unsure why this is happening. You've stated before that this is due to the check ball in the return line fitting getting junked up. My fitting is clean, and DOES NOT have a check ball or spring. It is a regular pipe elbow. Is this standard on the 530 IP's...or is mine missing? Your parts guys did say that the regulator valve is not used on this pump. So what regulates the pressure then?

In addition, no particles in the timing window, but some very fine brownish debris under the top cover.

I am unsure the history on the tractor and the pump..it could very well have never been touched until now....or....someone has messed with it.

This is a list Ive put together from all your posts..Ive seen some varying part numbers, can you check if these numbers are correct for this pump? The guys you deal with for parts will not give me a parts list, etc...I'm forced to guess.

Also, is there any special tools needed for this pump? Seems the bristol wrench is not needed in these? Also, what are the part numbers for the top cover gasket and timing plate gaskets? Thanks.

Alright George Ive sent you an email.

I've tried to contact USDiesel and get some parts and tools but they are not that willing to help me.

Do we have another source for parts and tools to rebuild these pumps?

TF,

Send me an email with a phone # and I'll
call you . I have some pictures of the taking
apart etc of those pumps. I keep most of the
parts here and have a test stand to check them.

I suspect that JD is up on his property in the northern Adirondacks. If so he is "Off Grid" I haven't seen any posts from him since a few weeks ago when he was home here in Otsego Co NY.
He was/is a very brilliant mechanic in the area, and does have a superior knowledge of injection pumps. That being said I guess that he will only answer you, if he decides to get on the YT website.

Thanks for the reply George. I'm not sure whats going on so I'm open to suggestions.

The engine ran in the manner I described, with the tank pulled and cleaned, the supply line blown out, both filters changed out, and the pump intake screen cleaned.

I inspected the return line today, seemed fine.

While I have the pump out I just wanted to refresh it totally and not have to worry about it again.

I had asked the parts guy if that Spaco kit included the timing window gasket and top cover gasket but they could not confirm it....

You can fill me in with the timing marks and any calibrations. I have the JD manual that covers this pump but I have not done any work yet..its just on the bench waiting for me to get more info and parts in hand.

The only thing I did was set the engine TDC per the Case manual, verified it, scribed the IP to the mounting area, and pulled it off.

TF,
That Spaco kit will have all the gaskets that
you need.
If you are having trouble with it shutting down
and do not have a regulator,my guess is that the
return line is plugged or possibly the suction line
and filters.
Meter valves don't go bad often and measure the
vanes before you condem them.
If you install the newweight basket,do you
know how to locate the new timimg mark?
Plastic window is needed only to check the
advance, if it is working and how much.
