Well everyone I did it! I got my first ever Case tractor home tonight. I got a 1070 Case. I am so happy. I spent many hours in one like my new to me tractor for a neighbor many years ago. I felt so good to be in a 70 series tractor again. Can't wait to put her to work in the field!

Nice! I spent a lot of hours in the late 90's helping a freind with a couple of 970's with cabs. One of the easyest operating tractors I've ever operated. Did tillage, hay cutting, chopping both corn and hay. Really liked em, just wish they were in my current budget.

Thank you. I have been searching for many years trying to find a good one. Finally found her only 3 miles from my farm.

Hi Rick,
Been reading your postings on here lately. Nice to have you on here. Just keep your eyes open. This one came up out of the blue so fast. I wasn't expecting a different tractor this year. There out there.

LOL yea right now I have to have by next year a combine with pickup and corn head and a grinder mixer. Would like to have a 40-70 hp tractor with decent hydraulics and PS. Plus my budget isn't much. We are trying to get the family farm going again with us doing the field work and harvesting.....the catch is without debt. Would be nice to have one tractor on the haybine and one on the baler (requires 70 PTO HP). I'm posed to jump on what ever comes up that fits that months budget! Only going to be haying/tilling about 70 acres to feed our critters. Ain't engouh to make it with grain for market but I can rasie and sell criters without paying out lots for feed.

Very happy for you sense you found what you were looking for and close to home too!

Now if you would just let me borrow it for the next decade or so.....

Rick

Kow Farmer,

Good for you! I hope you enjoy many hours on that old warhorse. Case really had it going in the 70's. Don

LOL I think you are going to have a hard time trying to pry that 1070 out of my shed. LOL Good luck with the farm endeavors.

Gotta love it when they are close enough to drive home. She looks good.

Thanks CNT,
I might have to ask some questions about the ol' girl in the future. Hope you don't mind. You have lots of wit and wisdom with the 70 series tractors.

Hi Don,
I am really looking forward to working with this ol' girl. Sounds like yours has treated you well over the years too.

Sweet, you have good reason to smile. That looks like a very nice, well cared for orriginal tractor. I'm glad you were able to catch the CASE bug. Happy farming! Rod.

Thanks RG. I was surprised to find this one also. This is one of the times the internet worked in my favor, since it was on a local dealer website. I worked a deal with the salesman so I didn't have to drive it home from the dealership. The tractor never made it to the dealer though. I got her fresh from the farm.

I bought a combine similarly this summer. Went to the local MF dealer looking for a grain table. Saw a combine that peaked my interest. Asked about it and it was already sold, but he had a line on another one, turns out it was only 10 miles from my house. MF dealer gave me contact info for farmer, bought it directly from the farmer(with the head I was after originally), drove it home, gave a commission to the dealer. Dealer makes a little and never touches it, I saved some money because the dealer doesn't have to handle it directly.

Nice looking "1070" I know many farmers I sold them too back then told me it was one of Case's best tractors.Glad yours went to a good home. Thanks for sharing with us

Thanks Rod,
She isn't as purdy as your fleet though. But I'll take care of her as best as I can.

Congrats on the 1070 purchase. They were some tough tractors. There's a lot of 70's still earning their keep in our area. Our 1370 does all the chopping here. Good luck with the 1070.

Kurt congrats, I could tell how bad you wanted a 1070 talking on the phone. Looks like a well cared for tractor. What happened to the 1850?

Hi there Agri King,
I tried selling the 1850 out right, had a few lookers. No takers. I was honest with everything that was mechanically wrong with the 1850. So I think it scared people away. So I caved into the salesman at the CaseIH dealer and traded the 1850 in with some bucks to boot. I'm happy to get the 1070 anyway. Sorry I couldn't get yours. I couldn't pass this one up. Since my neighbor owned it since new-'78? So I had good confidence buying it, since I know the history of it. I hope I didn't let you down.

if you want post the serial and I can tell you the year, unless some on put in the "framed" rear window a 78 model would have a "non framed" solid glass rear window like the "90" series have, this makes no differeance just for your info, have you got to put her to work yet?? and one other thing I seen the smile on your face is as big as any I seen back in the day when we would deliver a new tractor, nice to know that a tractor 30 plus years old is enjoyed that much today!! kinda tells the tale doesn't it, like the lit above states "Jet Age Tractor" cnt tom

Case Nutty,
I will post the serial number when I get a chance. I have been helping a good friend of mine with farmin' now for awhile. I am waiting for my neighbor to combine my soybeans, then I get to play in the dirt. LOL I'll try to post more pics of the 1070 also at a later time. Thanks for asking though.
