I have a Case 731 Comfort King. There was not a starter on it when I acquired it and now I don t seem to be able to get it wired properly. There are two large studs on the solenoid and two small studs. My problem is that I seem to have only three connections. One from the positive side of the battery, another that has a round connector to go on one of the large studs and a 14 gauge wire to go on one of the small studs. I think there should be one more as I can t get the starter to engine. Any diagram or help would be great, thanks |

that sounds right to me, the S should be the start terminal and the other should have a I next to it denoting ignition. |

| The top stud is for hot wire from bat. bottom goes to starter post and the small wire goes to one of the others, I can't remember which, but only one will work. The other small one is unused. |

| The battery cable goes on the large copper stud that is not connected to the starter post as does the smaller wire with a large loop terminal. the other goes on the small post nearest the block. The smaller wire with the large loop feeds the dash and the starter button and ignition switch. Nothing else goes on the other copper stud that the terminal that comes from inside the starter and fastens to the solenoid stud. If a Delco gas starter, the outer terminal with the small nut a wire would go from there to a resistor if the tractor is so equipped and I believe that the 30 series gassers were from the factory. the purpose of that terminal is to bypass the resistor on starts only to feed 12V direct to the coil |
