I have a 1958 Case 320 backhoe with a g148 gas. I got the tractor 5 years ago and there was no oil gauge pipe connected to the dash but the gauge was there. I looked all over the block and there is no connection. I tried to add a connection to the oil filter housing but there is not much pressure there. Must be on the return. Does anyone have any idea where the line goes on the block or head? Prevoius owner must have removed it for some reason and covered the hole?
Thanks, Hank

The 148 cid engine oil gallery is on the left side of the block. Either one of those threaded accesses is suitable. Plugs are 1/8" npt.

Thanks so much. I see someone either broke a plug off or covered it over. I will tap it out and re-connect.
Good to talk to you guys on the forum!

Some of those plugs were recessed square drive screwed in flush with the block. Your can use the one my gauge line is connected to or the pipe plugged one aft. Same taps to the oil gallery.

Upon a closer look I used the tap just under the carb as you had shown. Someone fooled me good by putting a block drain in the hole making me think it was to drain the block and not an oil gallery.
Just put my fitting in and oil pressure is fine.
The other hole was level and painted over so I think it had a flush plug as you say.
Thanks again Joe.
