Picked up a nice 660 combine with a 14' grain head. I will probably sell it due to lack of storage and the fact that it has always been inside, but I was wondering first where the serial number would be located to see what year it might be. I noticed the steering wheel would be like the older hundred series tractors. Sat in a shed since 92. Fired right up and drove it home 30 miles. Oil was right on the money and clean. Antifreeze looked like it was just put in. I thought I should have changed oil, but it looked fine. All the lights even worked. It's a nice machine that was getting ready to get kicked outside. Unfortunately I just can't justify moving good using eqt outside, so it will probably have to go. The paint is excellent in my opinion. I'll try to get pictures. Anyway, anyone know where to find the serial number, and does it let you know the age as in the older tractors? Thanks in advance - Bob

It took a little over 4 hours Sunday afternoon, but the weather was beautiful. We had just had 3 1/2" of rain a couple of days before and things were good. It was a nice ride about 10 or 12 mph.

Here are some pics of the combine. I need to get the canopy off, but then it would be ready to cut I believe. I'll get the serial number. Thanks - Bob

Where are you located? When I was in high school, we had a Model 600 which was a great little combine and is practically the same as a 660. Does it have both heads? Looks to be in great shape!

Bob, serial plate is on the left hand side of machine by the rear ladder as shown in pic, post your serial and we can tell you the year as you need a serial chart for year, but to narrow it down if it has a Eagle like in this pic on the rear hood it is from 1966 to 1968, no eagle and the old CASE logo on rear hood and grain tank it is a 1969 if it has the new "70" series logo it is a 1970 model, the first pic I posted shows the old Case logo on the bin cnt

I believe it has the eagle like your last picture, on each side, but maybe on the rear. It is the eagle on the globe, like in your picture. It has no cab, and a single bin extension. Runs like a top. I'll get the serial number tonight. I saw the serial plate where your picture shows it, but I thought it would be like my newer JD combines and have several serial numbers. I'll get it and post it with pics tonight. Thanks a million. Bob
