Take solenoid apart an clean an renew inside.Just be careful an puush small screw back as you remove bakelite front. Its only screw that is fast to coil at rear.Theres a way to see if that is problem nut thats dangerous an i wont tell that.Do remove negative cable on battery before doing repair.

bolt holding battery cable on front end of selenoid turns then goes tight again, cant get cable off to get selenoid off.
