When looking to upgrade the farm hoe from an old B model, what are the pros and cons of the E and the K. Did the K have the italian transmission? When did they change to a cummins engine? Also I read somewhere that the E model 4x4 was weaker than the K, but is it strong enough for average use on the farm. The old B is a good, but is a little slow. Probably ready for another hydra pump. I have never run an E but dad says they are a step up from a B. My experiences are with the B and with practically new machines. |

| the "E" is a good solid unit, they were the first production hoe to have the Cummins ( a few test "D" units had them too) working on the power train is much easier on "C" and after units also, they are also a "componant" unit meaning they have a one piece frame from loader to backhoe mount, I myself do not care that much for a "K" as to me they seem short on power compared to a "E" or later than "K" models, now I am not saying they are a bad unit it is just my preferance not to own a "K" I have a "E" now and had a "L" and really love them both work slowed down so I sold the "L" wish I still had it too I know of "K" units around here with 12000 hrs on them so I would not be afraid of them just would not be my first choice hope this helps some what again this is just my experiance with them and I have been around them since the 530 came out and still run a 580CK almost every day good luck cnt |
