My friend has a Case 410 gas tractor, it seems to be stuck in one gear range but the gear selector diagram on the tractor says there are two ranges (for a total of 8 speeds). It seems to be operating in just the one range and he can't seem to find how the operator makes the switch between one range or the other. Is there a lever or some procedure to accomplish this? |

| There was an aluminum gear selector chart rivited to the follower on the shifting lever, but most are missing. To go from High to Low or vise versa, move the shifting lever over sidways to a point between where you would push it up into 1st or up into 3rd. If you are in Low range the lever should move straight up between those two gears, leaving the Low range "H" pattern, and then enter the High range "H"pattern where you can move the lever sideways again. If you engage 1st, it will now be 5th. There are two "H" paterns stacked vertically, with a center slot connecting them. Loren |
