Ussually the 970 gets this job, but with some flooding of pot holes the past couple weeks it remains on the planter. Had to get corn sprayed earlier this week, so the 1270 got the call. Having a 540 sprayer pump I was a little concerned how this would work on the 1000 rpm 1270. Well it worked out good. Running the tractor at 13-1400 rpm's in 4th gear was fine until I had to turn in the ends where a quick down shift to 3rd was needed and then back up again. I think it will be used for the beans also since this seems to work so good. Have a good weekend everyone. Rod.

That sure is a clean machine!!!
Life is good when you can take an older tractor that costs a fraction of a new one and get the work done.
Thanks for posting,
Nick

How many gallons does the tank hold? Have used a mtd. sprayer on the 400 for ever, but only 200 gallon tank. 45' booms. Just bought a pull sprayer, 300 and 60' boom. Have to use the 800 standard as it has 6th gear at 9.1 mph which I need for 10 gallons per acre. Mounted sprayers don't leave a very big footprint in the corn fields. BTO neighbor turns on end with duals front and rear and big tires on sprayer knock down more corn than I raise!! If I could find a mtd. 300 gal. 60' boom I would be in tall cotton! Course would put on the 1170 or son's 1070!

That is a 300 with 60 ft. boom. I like the unit even though it requires frequent filling, had it 20 yrs. Rod.

Do you have a method of moving the front axle ahead or is that the old Simson Iron works kit? That looks like a really nice 12.

Rod,
I really enjoy your postings. You really have some sharp looking 70 series tracors! You must really take care of them well. The 70 series Case tractors are my all time favorite series. I put a lot of hours on a few 70 series years ago. I sure do miss driving them now. I would really like to find myself a nice white 1070 yet. Thank you for the pics. Hope crops are doing well your way.
