Has anyone taken one apart to fix?

Back story: my 770 has been sitting for quite a while till recently. It Registers RPMs fine, counted a few 1/10th of a hour after I got her all together, then quit counting hours.

Can they be taken apart and lubed/freed up? It will be a summer project after the corn is planted/ side dressed.

My 930 did that. I threw an electric hour meter on so I know when to service it. The hours add up a lot faster since they are clock hours rather than tach hours. I just let it run a little longer than the tach hour tractors between services.

You will chew up the ring on the outside trying to get it off. I guess there is some kind of tool to nicely remove them and crimp it back down. I was told $125-150 to repair them, if you want a number I can get it.

SO you just roll back the trim ring? I have done that to repair DB "Smiths" and "AC" units before. One thing I will say is you had better get it right the first time, as the second time you will ruin the bezel/ring.

I have a place that repairs them for me. Send me a email and I can get it to you. They will completely rebuild for about $150
