Case 188D engine

Just bought a backhoe that has been run low on oil. Has a spun #2 rod bearing and other damage I'm sure. I haven't been into it yet. The block has the two lower mounting flanges broken off and I would like to find either a good used block or a complete running engine to swap into it. What all did the 188s come in and can I swap in a 207 as well? Anybody know of a block or any good engines for sale around Tennessee or the surrounding states?

Thanks in advance for the help,
Morgan

188's were in 430/530,470/570, 660 combines 350/450 crawlers 1740 uni-loaders, for the 580 you will need to get a newer block with the oil filter laying down for your power steering pump to mount up, yes a 207 will fit I have one in my 580CK might check with Schaffers enterprizes think you can google them there are more applications too lots of them around good luck cnt

Tom,I bought a 188 from them a few years ago for a 350 crawler. It turned out to be a very good engine. So I have had good results from them.I've been there several times. They sure have the backhoe and skidder parts

I yanked out a blown 188 from my 580CK backhoe/loader and put in a 207 from a military forklift. No problems. Just had to use the front engine cover and oil pan from the 188.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'm looking for a later model 188 or a 207. I think I will try craigslist first and see if I can find anything close and if not I will check out the place you listed.

Thanks again,
Morgan
