Blown Head Gasket? Or cracked sleeve?

I took the head off of the DC tonight because I could see bubbles in the radiator and had water in the oil. Now how do I tell if it was blown head gasket or cracked sleeve or something else. Took head gasket off and it "looked" ok. Only been on there this summer. but leaked on right side no matter how many times I re torqued it.

I will admit I was in a big hurry to gt this together and did not clean the top of motor real well when I put it back together. Probably not a good surface to begin with.

I want to send the head to get worked and put new valve springs in it and valves if it needs it. Does anyone know of a good machine shop around topeka ks or surrounding area that they trust?

thank you

If you pull off the oil pad and fill the block with antifreeze, let it set there and check for drips. That should tell you whether or not you have a cracked sleeve or bad sleeve O-ring.

I am not sure what you mean by that?

A good practice when installing new o rings on sleeves is to add antifreeze to the block after installation and leave it set over nite or longer to check for leaks. Antifreeze is good at finding a way out.
