Case 930 ser # help again

We'll after reading your replies to my original post (http://www.ytmag.com/cgi-bin/viewit.cgi?bd=case&th=182361) I'd say I'm more confused than anything!! So lets clarify things.

-my ser # indicates it's a 1966 model
-the tractor has a rear fuel tank
-6 speed trans
-square fenders
-cast front wheels
-the trans brake option
-foot clutch only
-no air filter through the hood

So from what I've read can we confirm this is then a "WESTERN SPECIAL"? I was always under the understanding that if it was a "ws" the model would have been 932ck and not 930? I've also heard that the "ws" had a different wheelbase and that the rear fenders were different. Is this some backwoods "hybrid" of two tractors? Were some "ws"'s sold and not tagged as such. Would pictures help?

I appreciate the help, I've been a longtime lurker on this fourm but never needed to post because often the answer is found just by searching.

Thanks Southside

Please do post a picture of the tractor AND the serial # tag. The model designation will be on the serial # tag, and even though it might be a 932 on the tag, it will read 930 on the hood decal. By the way, it could very well be a "hybrid" of some sort. I'm getting ready to bolt a 900 front bolster to a 504 from a 2090, then bolt that onto a 930 clutch housing and bolt that up to a 400 transmission. :) Now that's a HYBRID! It will only be 2 1/2 inches longer than a 400 rowcrop which is a 4 cylinder, but it will be a 6-cylinder, 8-speed, foot-clutch 900! :) again!

Am I understanding you correctly to say that your 930 tractor is a 6-speed with a foot clutch? If so, I've NEVER seen one like it face to Case or even in a picture. All 6-speeds that I've ever seen were hand-clutchers.

All 6 speeds were wheatland tractors which I understand "western" means the same thing.I think the CKs started in 62? They did make them in 66 and foot clutches were an option. I had a late 66 model though the pre cleaner come through the top. The pre cleaner not going through the top is a new one for me. I never recall seeing such a thing until seeing that pic from the brochure.

Here's a pic of the tag, tractor pics to follow
