OK I have to admit I'm an Oliver guy,,BUT I couldn't let this one get away. Cousin of the wife's has it.

doesn't run, has a bad rod bearing. But was running and being used up until it got ran low on oil.
Paid $500 for it.

Probably pull it some, won't make the antique class in our club. But we just started a classic division. Most likely use it around the farm some.

Be easier to cultivate with it than my 1750

Looks like you payed for the tires and rims and got the rest of it for free. LOL. One like that can be saved and put right back to work and with what you have in it you should be able to get it up and running for less then what you could then sell it for and when you can do that you did good and saved it from being cut up

thats a nice looking old tractor. You done all right for $500

I over-hauled a 800 case I re-ringed the engine and rolled new rods and mains into it.

i think the rings were only $60 at the time.

The parts came from national automotive lines

Forgot to add.

We put 3 Pt arms off a 930 on to our 800 and plumed into the outlet for the rear lifts and added a set of outlets.

This way we had 3pt hitch plus dual 2 way hyd outlets to run a front end loader or big round baler

Its not as good as having a true 3 pt hitch and dual outlets but it works.

Oh when we done the conversion we put the 3pt arms where the egale hitch arms ride. we made our own pins and shims bushings.

For the lft arms we bought the universal aftermarket arms that fit 8N fords.

Works well for moving big round bales.

It's going in my buddies shop for the winter, Can't tie up mine again all winter.

It's getting a complete out of frame overhaul. He said it started to knock so I figure the crank is going to need turned and the rods are going to need work.

Since its going to be that far apart and sitting in one end of a body shop,, its getting painted. I don't suppose any one has paint codes for this thing?

Most likely going to send the pump and injectors out and have them gone over. I've got my eye on a 460 IH at the pulls that needs spanked.

Good deal. If you do a search on this forum, you will find a lot of advice on paint. I think it is desert sunset and flambeau red. external_link.com carries the paint.

DARNed good deal for 500. shoot grill screens, chrome and good dash are close to that $.

Now you have the 2 best tractor brands in the stable. ;)
