Thought somebody might be interested. The city of Lubbock, Texas is selling a 1976 Case 2670 not running. Go to www.renebates.com. Look for a auction listing for City of Lubbock, Texas ending july 26, 2011. They are asking for a $2000 starting bid and from the pictures all the tires are up. You have to have a $100 deposit with the auction co to bid. I am eligible to bid with them but have no plans to bid on this. You can contact me, Bryce Culipher, at 325 five three seven 256 four.

hello,
I purchased that tractor from the auction.

The interior is in rough,(missing a door, seat tore up,etc). It cranks right up and runs great, all i did was put two new batteries on it, and hit the start button, no problems at all.It seems to have been "out of service" for a few years, really surprised how fast it cranks, idles smooth, no smoke. The 3point didn't seem to move(just a little), and have not checked the PTO yet. Front right hub seems to be leaking fluid, not much, and no muffler. What does the small pipe that fits inside the muffler do?
I drove it about mile to the back of the farm, the only thing i noticed is when you push the clutch in there is no pedal at all, till you have only about an inch of stoke left, then it gets a little pressure, and when you let of the clutch it lunges forward pretty hard?. I was wandering if anybody can tell me what kind of fluid the transmission takes(TDH fluid?,is the fill under the plate on the floor board?). The transmission seems to be out of fluid, as there was none showing on the site glass, could this cause the low pressure on the clutch, and the lunging forward on the release?

I plan on purchasing all the manuals, but for know i would like to just change all the fluids, oil and filters. So if any body can tell me what it takes, how much, and the not so obvious stuff to change, and do, so i can get a few hours on it testing it out before I invest any more money, i would appreciate it..! I have all the filters cross referenced to fram, except the hydraulic filter, is there even one, and where is it?

thanks

I have been searching google, so far no luck...

yes i think the filler neck for the trany is under the center floor board. figured that out when i picked it up under the 2470 to see if the ignition key went down in there. i have one last planiterie if you needed one. your kinda far awya though.
