I've had this 2870 for a couple of years now.

I'm just wondering if any of you guys who have run the 2870 or 4890 or4894 with the centrifugal oil cleaner have ever found any contamination in the centrifuge?

I've changed the oil on this thing 4 times now and never found anything in the canister.

Thanks,
JP.

I change the oil on dads 4890 every seventy to ninety hours and there is usually a dirt film in the unit. We just grind hay with it and don't use it in the field. Are you taking the canister apart? The stuff is usually caked on hard inside the canister and usually takes a putty knife to remove it. I then wash everything clean with gas. Seems to me there should be some dirt film built up inside of it if your using it as a field tractor. Be sure you don't loose the spinner sitting on top of the canister when you remove the exterior lid.
