Hey all I have just picked up my new 311B which my father in law sold me!!
Shes a great runner and the triple range seems to be working well. We put the loader arms back on(they had not been used in 20 years) and I found 2 hoses are leaking and need to be replaced. The threepoint does go up and down though. The fluid is all milky looking so I am going to replace it.
My question is the manual says to use straight 10-w motor oil or type A ATF for the hydros. Is that what you all use in these old girls? Also where would a guy get a new filter?

Here"s a few pix for you all to enjoy. Plus one of my uncle"s 830 diesel.

as for me I use Case Hy-Tran,you may use ATF if you like, the filter if not a washable one is available from any Case dealer or John Saeli may still stock them also if you have a edgewound paper element you may wash it carefully in gas shake out and let dry

I am using a low vicosity general purpose hydraulic oil in both my 310 & 311B. Your 311B is 1959 same as mine.

Original cleanable filter element was Case p/n G13113. Wix's make direct replacement disposable element p/n 51518. You can buy that at Napa if no dealer near.

I know this may be sacrilegious to some in this forum, but we have John Deere Hy-Gard fluid readily available. Can that be used as a substitute? Please dont yell too loud!

Can't really say fixer2u. We had a B, M, & D Jack sheep tractors on the farm I grew up on. I just remember Pappy buying an overhaul kit for the D. He had all Case tractors when I came back home from the US Navy. ":>)
