930 Radiator

Hey guys,

I been workin on my 930 diesel (6-speed, PRE-Comfort King) the last few days, and today, I noticed I have radiator seepage. I just got done pulling the radiator and taking the tin off of it.

I'm sure it'll need to be recored, as it has a few spots that are "wet", but before I do that is there another radiator that will interchange? I'm almost positive that the CK's are different, most likely taller, as the grille is taller.

Maybe a 900 perhaps? Can I get an aftermarket? Looks like it calls for P/N A20918

Most likely, I'll drop it to the radiator shop Monday to get an estimate, but it's looking like it's gonna need another few hundred put into it.

OH.. Also, would anyone know the paint code for my tinwork? Some of it looks to be a darker tan, some looks to be almost a white color. I'm sure some is faded, but even parts that normally would be shaded from light don't match others.. I figure now would be as good of a time as any to spray the nose cone.

Thanks in advance

Brad

I don't know about the rad., the rad. shop is your best bet. You can go to your friendly CNH dealer and buy "Desert Sunset" paint for your sheet metal. Don't buy "Power Tan" that is for the later Case Construction equip. The new desert sunset will be a deeper/richer color than it was back when your tractor was new, but will not chalk and fade to a dirty white when left in the weather. The belly and engine would have been "Flambeau Red" which CNH doesn't offer any more. Now "Power Red". If you are a purist you can get the flambeau from John Saeli. I prefer the new red, others don't. There is a site at the left of your screen, (Reserch & Info.) Scroll down to Paint Codes.

Where are you located? I scrapped a 930 6 speed last summer. Keep teh radiator back off it and a few other goodies.

Bob,

I'm in southeast lower Michigan.

I don't know what it'd cost to have the radiator shipped, or if you'd even want to fool around with doing that, but if you are, I may be interested in purchasing.

If you think you'd want to, you can e-mail me @ gydefamilyfarm (at) hotmail (dot) com

For grins and giggles, I'm going to drop this one off tomorrow for a estimate, maybe it'll be repairable. I'm not betting on it though.

From pictures online, it looks like a 930 CK radiator is the same, except for the longer water neck, which I'm sure my competent rad shop could change out.

Out of curiosity, what else did you keep off the old girl? I need a few other things, but I have to make it function again before I worry about the rest..

Thanks

Brad
