Buying Case 701B

I'm looking for quote on a tractor i'm looking to buy. It's a Case 701B diesel with loader and quick attach bucket. It has one bad back tire that looks to have a gash in it but the other is fair they are 16.9x38s. The front tires are mismatched so it would need another 7.5x16 tire. The loader is in good condition good down pressure. Only bad thing is that it's plumbed into the auxilliary banks no outside tank. It would need new belts cause the power steering pump squeeels when turning. The hour meter reads 2888 hours and most gauges work and lights work too. It's still 6 volt too. It fires right up though no smoke really sounds strong yet. The pictures of the tractor are at this website link: http://wausau.craigslist.org/grd/1958109446.html So any advice would appreciated

Looks to be in excellent shape for a 50 year old tractor. The sheet metal especially looks good - is it original, or has it been repainted?

I'd still try to get the price down though. When I see OBO, that tells me the guy will take less.

If you have any specific questions, page Gene Dotson on this forum. He knows a ton about the 701B.

I would if you could,if the tractor has been sitting for at least a day, check and see if there is any antifreeze in the oil pan, just by cracking the drain plug some and see if any runs out,and as posted earlier after you have done that, start it and let it run to warm up and take radiator cap off and see if you have any bubbles
