Case 830 CK Steering U-Joint

Wondering if anyone has tackled changing out the steering shaft U-Joint located between the radiator and the engine block(under the lower water hose). Is it possible without removing the radiator? Not sure if there is enough room there. What are the proper steps in R&R'ing one of these?

probably possible , But YouKnow what ?, If it were mine I would take the radiator off for ease of working conditiuons ,,Have it cleaned while off , freshen the bolts up that I will bet are gonna be stubborngetting apart,,. my 4020 green money pit , needed the front hydro pump rebuilt ,, Jd suggests going underneath and using STURDY jack stands after pulling out the front axle ,,And dropping that 200lbs of b/s in your lap and all the grease along with it ,, And THen after proper repairs made lifting all that bs and holding ity in place while everyone finds the correct bolts,,. HALENO way i was doing that ,, we went from the top down ,, 1st time my son and i did it in a liesurely 2 hours ,,,. by the 4th time of taking that green sundavitj apart AGAIN ...!!!we could do it in 35 minutes .... practice makes perfect at jdeer

I've done it with the radiator off. Did just what JH mentioned in his post. Had radiator cleaned and checked at a radiator shop. Wouldn't want to even try it with the rad on.

Thanks for the replies. I have been in the hospital, had surgery monday...will get to this as I re-cooperate 4-6 weeks...blahh!
