Case 830 Steering Column Bushings

Since the dealer wants $66.00 ea. for the 2 bushings I need for the steering column, I thought I would throw it out there to see if anyone may know the dimensions of these bushings.

830 CK gasser

SN 8311660

Case part#A21367

I thought if I could obtain the dimensions that possibly I could get the bushings from a bearing house at a much better cost.
Thanks!

I didn't have much luck and have a good bearing store. That bushing is incased in rubber with a metal outer race. I just broke down and bought it from CIH. I didn't like the price either.

on my Racine 400 and 1030 I used bronze bushings from McMaster Carr, will get dimensions or a part number. About $2-4 each too.

Whenever you can, it would be appreciated.

As listed below, they are encased in rubber to help keep the steering wheel from shaking in your hand. If remember right the inside measurment is one inch. The outside I have forgotten. I replaced ours once with ag bearings but spent the moeny the second time when I put a new steering wheel on. If you use the tractor alot your hands and wrists will feel alot better with the oem bushings.

Thanks Bill, that makes a lot of sense.
Did you run into any problems with replacing them? Does the throttle linkage have to be disassembled partially to replace them. From looking at it, it looks like the housing surrounding the shaft has to be removed and the throttle linkage removed also. Let me know if I would be digging to deep.

I would remove the steering column top part. All the bushings I've ever taken out were just a bronze/brass sleeve, don't know anything about the rubber part!

Did you locate the dimensions?

When I changed the bushings I pulled the steering wheel and unhooked the high and low range lever and pulled the column straight up after unbolting the three bolts on bottom. Did the reverse when putting it together.

Thanks Bill...

I ordered the parts from local IH dealer yesterday and will be installing while on vacation beginning the 10th unless I find time before then. I have been pre-soaking the nuts with solvent so hopefully they will break loose nicely for me.
