930 clutch question

i put a new clutch in our 930 and pressure plate fingers are in to far, theres not enough travel left to release. i though the 6 pad was to thick so i tried fiber clutch, same result. anyone know the measurement for the release fingers height. any help would be appreciated.
 
I had a 1965 foot clutch 930 that had the same problem. My son and I went in the hand hole and adjusted them to the throw-out bearing and measured to the throw-out bearing. Never had another problem. It was a pulling tractor.

A dumb question probably but did you remove the bolts that keep the pressure plate compressed till it's installed? I have seen carryout customers have to resplit the tractor to remove them, not all models that use that PP have handholes to access that area. mEl

yes, i removed them. but first time i took it out i didnt compress it. could the fingers have gone over center or something when it was spread out. thanks for your ideas guys.
