Case 2870 Planetary Ujoint Replacement

Do I have to remove the wheel, planetary, planetary housing, spindle and spindle housing to get at a bad ujoint?

I started taking out the screws that hold the ujoint retainer caps and then got wondering if the slip joints would move far enough out of the way.

U can change one on 2670 without taking anything off SZ

Thanks, I was able to get it off. I see that it is a Rockwell u joint. Should I be able to get these u joints at a truck supply shop?

You should be able to get one at a NAPA store. Take your old one with you and let them look at it.

Thanks for the info guys.

Local truck shop had one on the shelf.

Sure is a lot easier to work on with the wheel off. I was changing wheel spacings anyways.
