990 wont turn over

Sometimes I cant get the engine to turn over very well. Its acts like there is not enough battery charge but I fully charged the battery. It will barely turn once and then just click. Sometimes it turns over just fine and starts right up. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

Have you had the battery load tested? You need to check your battery cables to see if they're cracked. They may need replacing and you need to clean all cable connections including where the battery is grounded. You need to use a volt meter and see what the battery voltage is at the starter while someone makes an attempt to start the tractor. If you have a starter solenoid it may be defective. If you have a solenoid have you tried using a screwdriver to short across the terminals to see if will crank and start. Make sure your tractor is out of gear with the brakes set. Hal
