CC Clutch adjustment

Well, im back to square one. Got the spring put in the adjusatment stud, new pressure plate, ect. Its just like it was before I let the quack machanics work on it. Still wont lock in, the clutch handle wont lock int. I Tried adjustments on it a doz times at least. No go. Either its too tight and the pulley wheel wont stop, and the handle wont come back, or its too lose and it wont stay pulled back, and that adjustments run around 3 or 4 notches in the adjustment. Whats your thoughts??

I remember when I was in high school mechanics class we were putting a clutch in my 66 GTO and I skipped class to finish putting it together. Went to drive it out of the shop and had no clutch. Kept bending clutch pedal rod, shop teacher thought maybe it wrong pressure plate.

Got to where I could start it in gear and shift on the go. Went back to NAPA and they assured me it was correct clutch kit. They thought maybe disc was put in backward. Drove it home and was going to pull it apart at home for the weekend. Had dad help me pull transmission when he noticed throw out bearing was put in backwards.

Since I was on tool duty the day the clutch was put in I wasn't involved. Shop teacher was mad about the deal but didn't do anything about it. Moral of the story is either do it yourself or take it to someone that knows what there doing and not pay them till the job done right.

Well, I guess I did both. I let a tractor machanic work on it, and then I worked on it myself. Neither of us likely knew anything about it. BUT, the thing is, It was doing this a year ago, and nobody had worked on the clutch in Y E A R S

Got to thinking, There isnt anything that I could have turned around except the plate itselff. The clutch adjustment stud is still accessable from the left side hand hole like it always is. Theres nothing else I could turn around and still make it work, (sort of)
