On our case 480B can you shift from 3rd to 4th while the tractor is moving. You really have to rev it up and let off the clutch slowly to keep from stalling it. Also it does not want to shift into low range. I think the shift linkage is off. When i move the shifter down it grinds. I cannot remember if the shifter is up its low or high. If i remember correctly down is low.
