Case 1030 Follow Up

Case 1030 Remote Valves Failure - Took the fuel tank support off to gain access to the control valve housing for removal. I thought as long as I had to take it off anyway I might as well take the relief valve plug out and see what happens. There is not enough room to take the plug completely out but enough that it should leak. Nothing, no oil leak and that seemed strange. So with the plug cap resting on the housing below it and maybe one thread holding, I started the tractor and shortly it was leaking oil around the plug, not with pressure just leaking. So I moved the control valve lever back and forth and then all of a sudden the engine surged and the control valve assembly made an air ratchet sound. I shut down the engine and retightened the relief valve plug. Started the engine, moved the lever forward and the plow jumped up in the air. Moved the control lever back and the plow lowered as it’s supposed to. So, the remote valves are now working properly and I am happy I didn’t have to tear into it. I know that the relief valve will probably stick again and will need to be replaced. But hopefully it will get me by for awhile to get some things done.
Thanks to all that responded sharing knowledge and experience,
Dell
